Recommended nautical routes from four charter bases in the Adriatic
To complement our standard nautical offer, we recommend a number of routes that have been designed by taking into account the locations of our most frequented charter bases in the Adriatic (Marina Dalmacija - Sukošan, Marina Kornati - Biograd na moru, and Marina Kaštela - Kaštela). Given that weekly charters begin and end on Saturday (boat takeover at 5 p.m. and return at 8 a.m.), we have made every effort to adjust our routes to these criteria.
Moreover, in order to make sure that your sailing experience does not turn into a race against time and miles, we have adjusted the lengths of daily routes to strike a compromise between the realistic desires of the crew and the abilities of the skipper, who usually bears the main responsibility for the crew, the boat and other participants in maritime transport. We have optimised the daily itineraries in accordance with the peak summer period (June–July–August) and by taking into consideration the length of day. Night sailing, though a very attractive and special experience, is not highly recommended. Therefore, daily routes are generally not expected to exceed 30 Nm.
The routes have been planned with due regard for the experiences of the skippers, amateur sailors and nautical enthusiasts to whom sailing is more than sitting in over-crowded marinas, meandering among street vendors and disco hopping. The proposed routes and destinations will give you a more colourful and entirely different insight into the hidden and unspoiled anchorage locations and bays, unique catering offer of the islands, a selection of sailing routes for every weather situation and a safe overnight anchorage. But as always, the most important factor in nautical sports is the weather dictating conditions and philosophy that must be taken under serious advisement and consideration.
On a final note, it should also be mentioned that bays and anchorage locations are very different during the peak summer months than in e.g. May or September, so finding a quiet bay and having it all for yourself in summer may prove quite a challenge.
